The full-day CHI NL Community Event 2026 will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the University of Amsterdam’s new library!
We are happy to invite you to the: CHI NL Community Event 2026!
CHI NL is bringing the local HCI community together once again – this time at the University of Amsterdam on Friday, May 29, 2026!
Following CHI 2026, we are happy to invite you to a full-day event at the former surgical theatre in the university’s newly refurbished library building on the Vendelstraat, in the centre of Amsterdam. Expect an inspiring keynote, paper presentations, and networking opportunities in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We encourage both presenters with accepted CHI 2026 submissions and all HCI enthusiasts to join. The goal is to provide an opportunity for researchers to present their work, receive feedback, exchange insights, and strengthen connections with other HCI researchers.
We look forward to seeing all our fellow HCI researchers from around the Netherlands! We are currently developing the programme – stay tuned for updates, we will share more information with you soon!
Participation
For those who would like to present, we are accepting presentations of work accepted at CHI 2026. Each presenter will have 10 minutes of speaking time followed by 5 minutes of questions. If you indicate you would like to present when registering, we will reach out to you with further information about the format.
If you would like to attend without presenting, you are very welcome too, the event is a great opportunity to catch up with fellow HCI researchers from across the Netherlands, enjoy the keynote, presentations and join the informal borrel afterwards.
Please note that attendance is limited to 80 spots. Registration is free for all and closes on May 10, 2026. Please register below to let us know you are attending.
Location
The event is located on the Vendelstraat in the centre of Amsterdam, making it easily accessible by public transport. The nearest tram stops are within walking distance, and Amsterdam Centraal station is approximately a 20-minute walk. The building is also reachable by metro via Rokin station, a few minutes’ walk from the library.
